Dear Sisters,
Once again, we are witnessing the weaponization of government power to undermine and retaliate against an independent Black woman leader. Dr. Lisa Cook, the first Black woman to serve on the Federal Reserve Board, is facing unsubstantiated attacks aimed at forcing her out—simply so she can be replaced with someone who will follow Trump’s demands.
Dr. Cook is a highly respected economist who has dedicated her career to addressing barriers to innovation and expanding economic opportunity. Her expertise, independence, and integrityare exactly what make her a threat to Trump’s attempt to bend the Federal Reserve to his will.
This is about more than one woman—it’s about protecting independent voices, defending democracy, and standing up against efforts to silence Black women leaders.
