Gov. DeSantis appoints Tampa-based attorney as new FAMU trustee

Florida A&M University has a new member on its Board of Trustees

Gov. Ron DeSantis selected Rattler alumna Jocelyn Dopson-Rodriguez as the newest addition to the BOT, according to a Monday afternoon press release from FAMU. 

Rodriguez is replacing Trustee Kelvin Lawson, who has served as a board member since 2011. It is unclear why Lawson’s time on the board has ended. 

Rodriguez’s appointment became effective on July 11 and will end on January 6, 2026, according to the university. Read more at www.wctv.tv.
