St. Petersburg College has partnered with the City of St. Petersburg’s Cohort of Champions to design the PITCH Program, which stands for Persistence Incorporated into College Hired. The program will deliver high-quality educational, career and character-development training for African-American males in St. Petersburg. The orientation is from 5-6 p.m., Monday, Aug.7 at SPC Midtown Center, 1300 22nd St. S, St. Petersburg. This eight-week program starts Tuesday, Aug. 8. The registration deadline is Friday, July  21.The program offers FREE tuition and books, college credit, career opportunities, interactive workshops, and focused end-of-the-course test prep.   • Strong leadership skills, fundraising experience, financial management, and ability to manage and motivate staff. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and comfortable making presentations to both small and large diverse groups.
  • Must have experience working with community organizations, government entities, and both public and private agencies that specialize in activities that meet the needs of the community. 
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, fund development, donor cultivation and human resources.
  • Must pass a Level II fingerprint background screen.

The Edible Peace Patch Project built two new schoolyard gardens and educated over 400 students. Students had the opportunity to try dishes made from school garden grown vegetables and locally grown produce from Wunderfarms and Pinellas Pal First Fruits Hydroponics.
