Pinellas County hiring full and part-time lifeguards

Beach season has arrived and swimmers, paddle boarders, kayakers and body-surfers have already started to flood Pinellas County beaches. Pinellas County is hiring lifeguards to monitor county beaches to help visitors have a fun and safe experience.  Lifeguards will be stationed on county beaches at Fort De Soto, Sand Key and Fred Howard parks until Monday, Sept. 19.

DNC hiring African American Outreach Director

The African American Outreach Director will work closely with the Director of Community Engagement, the Community Engagement team as well as DNC staff to implement effective outreach to the African American community.

Responsibilities:  Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conducts stakeholder analysis, community outreach and engagement, message development and strategic communications, and logistical coordination for delivery and implementation of outreach efforts.
  • Tracks the impact of complex change initiatives.
  • Cultivates relationships with key constituencies and facilitates involvement as it relates to Committee objectives.
  • Develop and write comprehensive community engagement strategy plans for implementation.
  • Analyzing local political trends, performing necessary research and preparing background materials and documents.
  • Prepare briefings for the DNC Chair, officers and senior staff.

·     Serves as a Liaison to the Chair of the DNC’s African American Caucus

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience).
  • Community engagement and organizing experience
  • Three to five cycles of campaign experience, including one presidential or gubernatorial election

Office of the General Counsel Sixth Judicial Circuit hiring Senior Secretary

This is responsible administrative work providing support for trial court staff attorneys with the Office of the General Counsel. The Senior Secretary deals with subjects primarily legal in nature and must be familiar with legal terminology. Duties include a wide variety of administrative and clerical tasks that require the application of independent judgment and knowledge of relevant laws, policies and procedures, in a high-volume, fast pace environment. Assignments are made orally or in writing and work is reviewed through observation of work product, conferences and periodic reports or evaluations. Work is performed under the supervision of the Office Manager.
Minimum Training and Experience Required: Graduation from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative support in a legal environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. All applicants must possess strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented. Familiar with legal terminology and previous work experience in a government agency highly desirable.

Creative Pinellas Announces Arts Grants Programs Accepting Applications through March 18

Be the primary resource to create the organization’s monthly newsletter including souring newsletter stories, Write and distribute press releases, Assist in the promotion of upcoming events and activities including activities to assist in recruiting clients, Take the primary role of recruitment of clients, once an area is identified., Work closely with the news media to have stories consistently placed in newspapers, recognized on television, and interviews broadcast on radio, Work closely with funding clients to make sure that they receive recognition and that they are aware of the recognition., Attend various special events and represent the organization in meetings, Man event/display tables at various events to assist in the recruitment of program clients, Work closely with CM managers and staff to be aware of upcoming events, Assist in maintenance of social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram)

  • Should be able to easily use creativity tools required to create newsletters and press releases
