The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg needs an enthusiastic and energetic individual to oversee our youth sports programs at the Childs Park YMCA. Responsibilities include supervision of staff & volunteers, development & implementation of teamsports programs specifically Soccer and Flag Football. This individual must possess strong communication and program development skills, be outgoing, a self-starter and able to multitask.

Requirements include: minimum age 18 with high school diploma or GED; minimum 6 month experience in youth sports and related training/coaching; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekday evenings and Saturdays. The ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a friendly & courteous demeanor is essential. Scholarship opportunity - College Juniors & Seniors

Juniors and seniors in college are invited to apply for a scholarship opportunity provided by the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections (FSASE).  The FSASE is offering three $1,200 scholarships to eligible Florida residents currently enrolled or accepted as full-time students in a senior college or university in Florida.

Hillsborough County residents must apply through the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office.  Our office will review all applications and send one finalist to the FSASE Scholarship Committee for consideration.  Some of the requirements include the following:

 *Students must be majoring in political science, public or business administration, or journalism/mass communication

 *Students must have finished two years of junior college or undergraduate work and hold enough credits for enrollment as a Junior.

  *Students must have been a resident of Florida for two years before the current academic year.

  *Students must be able to demonstrate financial need.

  *Students must be registered to vote.

The application deadline is March 17, 2014 at 5 p.m.

Request for Proposals for Emergency Food and Shelter Program

Notice is hereby given that Hillsborough County and Pinellas County will receive funds for the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. EFSP funds are Federal Funds made available through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency- or FEMA. Local boards for both counties, representing local government entities, provider agencies, and funding bodies will determine how the funds are to be distributed among emergency food and shelter agencies in Hillsborough and Pinellas.
