Career Opp: Youth Specialist (New Port Richey)

Responsible for the recruitment, education and career planning management of CareerSource WIA youth customers. Responsible for the coordination and/or provision of direct services to enrolled youth and youth seeking to enroll into program services. Additionally responsible for ensuring the quality of customer progress and work performed by the youth, as well as maintaining excellent working relations with other program staff and staff serving youth in other community based programs. Monitors progress of all assigned youth in goal attainment, individualize career plans and employment, resolving difficulties and tracking plan progress at least monthly.  EDUCATION: Bachelor of Arts/Science degree; or a combination of experience in a counseling/social services/job placement related/rehabilitation setting in various jobs in private industry and studies in the Human Services field can be substituted for the degree; or a combination of an Associate of Arts/Science degree and experience in the above fields.  EXPERIENCE: Two years human services/social services/counseling/rehabilitation/job placement experience required. Career Opp: Early Childcare Teachers (Pinellas County)

Teachers will be responsible for working in head start or day care centers helping children ages 0-12 years of age in their educational and personal growth needs. Under a director's supervision, they provide all the necessary primary care for infants and independent and group activities for toddlers and older children. Through games and exercises, they help children develop self-esteem, curiosity, imagination, physical skills, and speech. Teachers also oversee the children's health and nutrition, sometimes having the children participate in the preparation of breakfast and lunch.

Will also be responsible for supporting children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.

Minimum requirements:
-1 year proven experience in the child care industry

The American Civil Liberties Union of Florida (ACLU-FL) seeks a full-time, temporary Campaign Coordinator to staff the Justice for Jacksonville Coalition. The goal of the Coalition is to reduce death sentences in the 4th Judicial District (Jacksonville/Duval County).  The ACLU of Florida convened the Coalition and seeks to support and expand its work through this position.   The position is based in the ACLU of Florida's Northeast Regional Office in Jacksonville.  The Campaign Coordinator will report to the ACLU of Florida’s Director of Public Policy. Statewide Supervisors of Elections Association Offering Three College Scholarships in 2015

College students registered to vote in Pinellas County could be eligible to earn a scholarship in 2015!  The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections (FSASE), comprised of the 67 county supervisors, will award $1,200 scholarships to three qualified students in 2015. College students majoring in political science, public administration, business administration, journalism or mass communications, enrolled as a junior or senior at an accredited Florida college or university and registered to vote are eligible to apply.  “I am proud our association is able to provide these financial scholarships to our future leaders,” Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark said. “Pinellas County has produced a scholarship winner in four of the last nine years, and we look forward to continuing that trend in 2015 by nominating another deserving college student to receive one of these FSASE honors.”   FSASE scholarships are awarded in memory of Dorothy Walker Ruggles, who served as Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections from 1988 until her death in 2000, Joe Oldmixon, former Escambia County supervisor, and Jimmy Whitehouse, former Highlands County supervisor.   The scholarship application and the complete list of scholarship guidelines, which include requirements such as letters of recommendation and financial information, are available for download at www.votepinellas.com.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Master’s degree preferred. Certified Public Accountant with active license is strongly preferred.
