The Edible Peace Patch Project built two new schoolyard gardens and educated over 400 students. Students had the opportunity to try dishes made from school garden grown vegetables and locally grown produce from Wunderfarms and Pinellas Pal First Fruits Hydroponics. May 30, 2017 - In honor of the 25th Anniversary of The Florida Holocaust Museum (The FHM), this oral history series shares the stories of twenty-five Holocaust Survivors. Each Survivor brings to the series an individual voice that enlivens our understanding of the Holocaust; the war’s effects on individuals, families, and communities dispersed across the world; and its reverberations into the present moment.  Jacqueline (Jackie) Albin was born in Belfort, France in 1937, two years before the beginning of World War II. Although she was quite young during World War II, her parents’ stories supplemented her own vivid memories of those years. Click here to learn more.

St. Petersburg FL May 19, 2017 - Bidders/Technical Assistance Workshop Set for June 2, 2017  Social service agencies may now apply for $354,000 in competitive grants from the city of St. Petersburg. Grant applications are due Monday, July 3, 2017, by 4 p.m. and are available online at www.stpete.org/social_action_funding. Funding is limited to social service programs that provide homeless services and/or homeless prevention services. Priority for funding: homeless families with minor or dependent children; unaccompanied youth; and rapid rehousing for families/individuals. Grant awards will not be offered to agencies requesting less than $10,000 or more than $40,000. An agency can request funding for more than one program, but the total request for these competitive funds cannot exceed $40,000. Agencies must submit only one application.
